Toyo Open Country A/T 285/75 17

I too got a Leveling kit, how much room do you have on the front with your 285/7R17's what toyo's do you have? I got 35x12. 50 17's on some nice american eagle rims. Hope they fit.

Is there a 265 or 255 width tire load range E with a taller sidewall (75 or 80)? I would like a slightly taller tire for lower revs but I think going wider might hurt mpgs. Probably wishful thinking.

Exactly! I think 265 is wide enough for a stock on road truck but not tall enough for the gearing with a NV5600.

Just be glad you don't have a G56 its overdrive isn't as deep as the NV5600's. I still need load range E as I tow but don't want to spend the $ for 19. 5's.

That is why I went with the 285/75's. They are a touch wider than 265's and add quite a bit to the height of the tire. there have been no disapointments with these tires. They do look a little wimpy, but man they work great in snow, rain and normal mud. they are not a mud tire, by any means, but they are a load range E tire (3970lbs). they hold really well when pulling the trailer and I keep them aired up to 75psi all the time and they are wearing perfect. Matter of fact I am going to rotate in a few days (every 7500miles). Overall, they work for over 99% of the stuff I will ever get into with the truck. Scotty

I have the 285 Nitto Terra Grapplers and love them. I just got back from a 2500 mile trip to Northern Michigan and they ran great and did very well in the snow. Yes, Toyo and Nitto are the same company with the same CEO in Japan.

Yeah. The siping and blocks on the toyos and nittos seem to make the work in the snow and rain pretty well. I am pretty happy with the toyos and if they last 40k I will be happy

Well I tried my 35 x 12. 50 x 17" on my stock truck. They hit on the mud flaps in front. back are ok, When the Lev kit shows up They should fit then, I will need to get it alined after I get the lev kit on it???? don't I ???? anyone else put a lev kit on and was a alinement needed?

I didn't need alignment after the leveling kit. Drive the truck for a little bit. I would bet you would need good performing shocks before an alignment.

Without 1/2" longer control arms,the 35's will probably still hit the front mudflaps. Lifting the vehicle pulls the axle rearward.

I am looking at a set of Bilstein Shocks. I had them on my 03 and loved them, I had 285's on it. I know the 35's are bigger then the 285's. They should help out.

Just got the Toyo's on. The truck grew up about 2 inches, they ride super smooth, handle great in the snow, even though I only put a few miles on them. The truck was screaming bigger tires. These fit the bill nicely. Here are some pics

How do these tires compare to stock bfg ruggid trail tires in mud? I am looking for a new set and i really like the 285 75 17 size, but i am looking for a tire that is a little better in the mud than my stockers. I do alot of on highway driving so i want to stay with a at and not a mt, i offroad 5 times a year probably, so. They look about the same aggressivness as my stockers, but i have not seen them in person. If some one could elaborate that would be great.
