I run BFG At 285x65x18 on my 07 2500 and have 65k miles on them. I have always used BFG At on all my CTD's with the least amount i have out of a set is 69K and the most is 87k. These are load range E and i pull a 13k toy hauler though not much. been using them since 95.

I have the orginal all season Michelin's on my 07 with 33k and I tow/haul 6k miles per yr 10 to 11k in trailer. I rotate every 7500 miles. Still have plenty of life in these tires. Why would anyone want to go to these exotic tires. Michelin is the only tire I will put on my vehicles.

2500, 4x4, 6. 7 automatic, hd, quad cab.
Michelin doesn't offer a 285-70-75-17 in an E-rating. I love my Toyo 285-75-17 AT's. When Michelin offers an oversize e-rated tire I may consider them. Our Pilot wears Michelins.

I won't put a Michelin on ANY of my trucks. I prefer to keep the fenders UNbent from a separation or blowout. If you wear them out in less than three years, you're fine, but if you don't, you'd better take 'em off and get new ones or they'll pop like roadkill on a summer Texas highway... ... And you ask why I would use an "exotic" tire? Well, I like to actually make it back onto the road after leaving it. Michy's suck in the sand and mud... ..... and mesquite trees are indiscriminate; they'll punch holes in Michelins, Goodyears, Toyos, or Mastercraft all the same. And the difference? I can buy 8 Mastercrafts for the price of 3 Michelins... ... or 4 M/T Toyos for the price of 3 Michelin's..... ;)

Hankook Dynapro Mt have lasted the longest for me 285/70/17,these trucks are hard on tires, i like to run 50psi in the front 40 in the back, bump both up 10 when we hook on to the toyhauler, max air towing just seems to eat up the rear tires no matter what brand

I have considered the Toyo MT's from reading that they seem to wear a little better but also have been told that they will wear out faster when towing and that the side walls have more flex in them which is not good when towing. . I have a 38foot toy hauler that when loaded is around 16 to 18,000 lbs. However all that weight is not right on the tires just the tounge weight. Decisions, decisions.

I put the Toyo MTs(285/75-17 E)on because the ATs were on perpetual backorder. I don't know if it is the sidewalls, or the open tread pattern, but the truck wallows like a tuna boat now. I am very disappointed having to "wind" it into corners, especially when towing. I have not driven a truck with ATs on it for comparison, so can't help you there. I have about 5K miles on them, so can't really appraise wear at this point.

I have a set of 285/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers on my truck. The wear on these tires suck. I have about 12k on them and even with a lack of maintence I expected them to last a little longer. I might be able to rotate them and get 20k out of them. I expected more, I got just over 17k on the stock michelins with no rotation at all.

Hankook a/ts or BFGs will be my next set. Buy at your own risk.

My 0. 02

TOYO tires=GARBAGE

I installed a set of TOYO's on my 01 6Speed 3500. It always towed a trailer. DID NOT GET 25000 miles out of them. My local Les Schwab dealer said there was nothing he would do to help me. I swear I will run on worn out rims before I ever deal with Schwab or TOYO. My Michellens on the 04 truck have almost 60,000 on them and still going strong... . Sometimes you dont even get what you pay for. Just my 2cents worth.

I got 30k out of my Nitto Terra Grapplers. And you can ask Sage, they were racing slicks when I replaced them. I'm not impressed with them at all. For the record my truck is stock and I use it as a commuter. Tow on the weekends and hunting trips into the woods. I use it, but I don't abuse it. Everyone I know running Toyo's are getting much better mileage with them.

finally pulled the trigger monday and got the toyo m/t's 35X12. 5 17's what a difference. after 52K+ on stockers these tires really make the truck look sweet. they are much quiter than i expected, handeling isn't too much worse. I couldn't get the 285/75 17's so i went big. so far i'm glad i did. truck looks sick. you get what you pay for!

I have the original Michelin LTX's on my 2007 2500 and the sidewalls are checking really bad. They have 34k on them, and even the spare (rotated onto a nice rim) that is virtually brand new has checking near the rim on the sidewall, and it's got maybe 2k miles on it. Even though the tread wear is still decent, I am tempted to get new tires because I'm afraid they might come apart.
A set of BFG's are in my future. I've run 5 sets of the BFG AT KO's on various vehicles, and they never let me down.

Tires?

I noticed the same checking on my spare that has never been from under my truck. When i was checking the air preasure in it, yesterday I was under the truck and noticed checking around the rim and mine has never seem the sun! I have a 07 also. I agree with the BFG AT's I've ran several sets over the last 15 years on a 95, 04 and my 07 4x4 CTD's. They have always gave me great service. The set on my 95 had 83k on them when I sold the truck. The owner couldn't belive it. My 07 has about 60K on them now. 285x65x18. On my wife Cherokee I run BFG Long Trails, they have over 80k on them. But you get what you pay for. I could have bought Nitto Terra graplers for my truck for 1000. 00, I paid 1250. 00 for the BFG's. It's the only tire I will use.
