Traded my '08 for a new '11 and I pick my truck up tomorrow. I plan to swap my wheels and tires over to the new truck (at delivery), and I figure the TPMS sensors are the same, but I thought I would check and see if anyone else has done this. ;)
 
They DO NOT work if anyone is interested.



At first the info center shows the correct tire pressure and there is no alarm, but after about ten miles the computer zeroed out the readings and the alarm went off. Now I am going to have to pay to swap my tires onto the new wheels. What a hassle. :D

I'm confused, do you still have both sets of wheels and tires? If so, just swap the sensors. Otherwise new sensors are $69 each.

Traded my '08 in, swapped tires over at delivery. The new rims and tires are at the dealership on my old truck. I'm going to contact the dealer and see if they will set up a sensor swap for me.
 
I'm not sure how Dodge's TPMS system works but on my wife's GMC Yukon if you swapped out sensors there was a procedure for the system to recognize the new sensors. We bought new sensors for her new wheels so we could swap back to the stock tires and I had to put it into a programming mode (can't remember how) then go to each tire and drop the pressure one at a time until the horn chirped. Kind of a pain but easier than swapping sensors if the Dodge system is similar to GM's.

You don't have to train the sensors with the Dodge system. My problem was they use two totally different sensors. The ones on my '08 had the metal stem with the nut on the outside. The sensor had a large green body. The sensor on the '11 uses a rubber valve stem, and the sensor body is much smaller and is black. Once I put the original wheels back on the truck "re-learned" the sensors and the world is good again.
