I recently had my transmission rebuilt and had the 3 to OD search problem. Knowing that it had been covered many times, I did a search and got the full scoop. Not wanting to mess with the electronic testing, I went straight to the adjustment phase.
I can't recall the poster, but the recommendation was to remove the sleeves in the securing holes and rotate the unit counterclockwise. I did this and the problem appeared the same, or slightly worse. Any let off of the pedal under 60 mph would drop me into 3rd gear.
I loosened the unit and went all the way back clockwise and secured it. It's just like it used to be. I never had it where it would drop out of OD until I was around 30-35 mph. I usually push the button myself on the way down and shift up manually after 45 mph.
Question is, will this cause problems in the long haul?
