I was changing the oil in ol' blue today and thought I would check the codes using the key trick. This after taking it to the dealer for a cold start surge issue that ended up starting the "Worthless Dealer" thread. They of course could find nothing.

Anyway, I now have the P0122 code and have no idea why. The dealer, in their quest to void my warranty, said the APPS had been unplugged and the only way I can see they were able to see this was to take it loose and look at it. Do you guys think the ignorant tech set the code or should I look into the problem a little more? Maybe I should disconnect the batteries and see if it reappears in a few days.

How difficult is a TPS to change and how expensive are they at Cummins. I will do it myself if it is relatively straight forward. This is a way better alternative than dealing with a dealer.

Thanks

Try disconnecting the battery to clear code. On the 24v it's called A. P. P. S. Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor. It's pretty much straight forward to install. If i'm not mistaken you have to buy it from the dealer. Six 10mm bolts and one harness and it's in your hand.
