I thought the TPS was a Cummins part? THe rep at Cummins West San Leandro, CA says no. . If so, where else can I get besides the stealer?

I dont remember the number off hand but I work at an autoparts store and got mine there in Standard Motor Products... . If I can find the old one its still in the box I'll try and get the number..... Rick

I know this is the 12 valve forum and I'm a "stranger", but I ordered and purchased a brand new TPS for my truck through Cummins West in Sacramento about 3 months ago :) Came in a Cummins box with Cummins tags all over it... .

If in doubt whenever you need a part number for *anything*, contact TDR member LAnthony (Lane Anthony). He works for Cummins in I think the Portland, OR area. He was the only person who could get a MAP sensor part number for me, as well as the TPS number. He's an awesome guy!!!!:D:D:D

I had the same experience. I went to Cummins to order a new TPS and they said it was a DC product because it’s for the auto transmission. After calling around to 5 different Dodge stealers, I finally found one in stock ($228). It was in a Cummins box.

I went back to Cummins and ask the parts guy what gives. He said that Cummins & DC probably have an agreement that Cummins will not sell for Dodge trucks. He was pretty sure they are also used on other medium duty commercial trucks with the 5. 9.

You did'nt show the year of your truck but here are the part #s for 12 valves. . cummins 3930318. . mopar 4874412. . napa ( echlin ) CRB219233 . . you can order on line www.napaonline.com.. The napa site is cool. . you can type in a mopar part # and if napa has it up it comes, with thier part number and all. . By the way the last I heard echlin was making the tps. for cummins and dodge. . They also make fords too...

TPS part number

My truck is a 97 12V auto, will that part number be correct for mine? (It's a sad sad fact that there are so few knowledgable parts counter guys anymore...

Give Cummins your engine serial number found on the data tag on the gear housing, without it they are completely lost.

With the esn the Cummins parts jockey should be able to see a list of every part on your truck's engine (that Cummins supplied).

If you were to buy a new truck it might take them 6 mos. to a year to get that esn in the software sent out to the Cummins Dist. /dealers.

Good luck,

Andy
