Well it’s time to replace the throttle position sensor in my truck. Geno’s sells them for $200, but Rock Auto has them for as low as $107. My question is does anyone know if there is a difference. I have no problem paying more if it is a higher quality part that operates better. I just don’t want to throw away $$$ I could use elsewhere. Thank you.

I don't know the answer to your specific sensor, but when I replaced my crank sensor, I ordered from Geno's and when the part arrived it was a genuine Cummins part. I doubt the rock auto part is a geniune Cummins part.

Well, after resisting the well-meaning advice of my brothers and sisters here I have finally come over from the dark side and installed the DNR tps eliminator (a potentiometer that mimics the tps), and that would be my advice. My experience is that no TPS is worth the money, even OEM. I cut the plug housing off an old TPS, bored it out for the pins that come attached to the DNR harness so that the DNR is plug-in with good security. The nonfunctioning TPS is left mounted so you don't have to hassle with the mounting saddle, etc. sure looks like our trucks largely don't need tps, shifting can be determined by engine speed, road speed, transmission pressures. Have not had a problem with acceleration (kickdown will now be manual) my truck with 4. 11 was kinda gear bound anyway. Just my now-revised $0. 02. Oh, and you have to pass the harness thru the firewall grommet... advice from my 6y. o. Genius assistant: tape the wire inside a 1/4 inch socket extension, "use it like a sewing needle Dad". Smart like her Mom!;)

That is the whole reason for the TPS, the ability to auto downshift out of OD with throttle position. As long as its a single driver it snot a bad deal, bad idea if you have others driving it and they don't understand.
