Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) TPS eliminate?

I read another post where someone said they removed their tps and put a resistor in at a fixed 1. 6 volts??? any input,, pro's & cons?

It's worth the trouble if you want your transmission to shift at the same speeds everytime, regardless of throttle position. Use a variable pot instead of a fixed resistor. Lots of good stuff if you search for TPS.
