tps fix

Hi guys just got my 93 on the road mon and had a little glitch. The overdrive would kick in and out at any speed. It was very disturbing so i took it to my friends trans shop and put the scanner on the trans and sure enough it was coding tps switch malfuntion. So he checked it with the scanner by stepping on the peddle and watching the voltage. It was all over the place. Went to the local dodge (dealer) and got a price on a new one. $220. 00 plus tax!!!! I went home and took that sucker apart and cleaned it. Fixed it in 30 mins. Piece of cake!! Going to have the fluid changed and bung welded in for trans temp. Also line pressure elevated. I got egt, boost,hooked up. Boy what a piece of equip! Getting a 16sq housing as soon as tst gets them in. Been adjustig the pump and it does respond so no inj for now. Italked to the tech man at the trans shop and he said these transmissions are pretty rugged for stock. Runs like a top FIRST GENNERS ROCK!!!!! jeff

Glad you like the 'ole girl..... they are a hoot to mess with, really basic in terms of under the hood, and lots of room work too...



I have a text file that I compiled regarding the TPS and setting it if you're interested.



I think PDR has some 16cm's in stock if you're in a hurry... .



I figure it'll take you 3-6 months before you want more and order some nozzles... .

yea your right bushwakr but got to stay on the good side of the signifigant other!!! That is a full time job sometimes!LOL. As far as the room and simplicity goes it rocks but my bro-laws new 2003 td is packed to the hilt under the hood. hes a ford man but i think he may be swayyin our way!! thanks again for all your help on this sight. Im glad im a member and will always be one. BOMB-ON DUDES!!!!

tps text file

Bushwakr could you fling the tps text file my way? I ordered a new one and it came in. The one i fixed is in the glove compartment. I ordered it before i fixed the old one so i could't back out on spec order. Also i asked the parts guy if they had any service manuals and he gave me a brochure with chryslers number and web address. The phone number is 1-800-890-4038. The website is www.techauthority.daimlerchrysler.com. According to the brochure the service manual is $59. 00. Fax is 1-440-572-0815. Hope this helps !
