You can do it, but I recommend following the instructions in the shop manual. If you don't have a shop manual, you should get one anyway. My recollection is that it is pretty straightforward, except the first time you turn the key on (WITHOUT starting the engine), you're supposed to slowly press the accelerator pedal to the floor and slowly release it so the APPS/TPS gets calibrated properly. Also, watch out for the cruise control cable connector. It is plastic, and if you try to pry it off, you will break it. Slide it forward to disconnect it. The APPS/TPS itself is supposed to be already calibrated.
