It was the gear box that attached were the cable would on a macanical speedo. The gears would skip and the needel would bounce if the bounce droped below 50 with light throttle (600°EGT) it would sence that there was addiquit throttle to call for a down shift 60mph @1600. This got progressively worse. Till one day it locked up . The out put locked causing the little gear box to spin wrapping up the speed sensor wires just short of braking then. Got the replacement from Car Quest in Anaconda, MT , normal stock item. Same for there dodge dealer IIRC $17 and $50ish respectively. I got stoped fast enough to keep it from braking ,however snow and ice builds up on the hi way my speedo quits for a wile just slow to 55 and wait for it to drop the ice and kick back to OD, and I have to zip tie the wire in just the right tension for the intermittent speedo cut out when hitten larger bumps in the interstate to go away .
This was failing at the same time the odo gear was failing. At first it would stop at random for 25 mi theo 15k mi later stop at random for 100 and this grew till it stoped @289,9xx . That was 50-70k mi ago last winter. This failure dose not effect the OD and CC only the data log.
This is were i need help.
The gears (2 nown to fail)were available through LMC Truck. But as of last fall('16) no longer available.

it would be nice tobbe amle to track my milage agen it tells me when somethings wrong with my truck if my mpg drops below 22.other than towing or driving 75mph.
