I want to get this done soon... ... how much for install? I did a search and looked at the websites of several maufactuers but can't seem to get an idea. Only mods on the truck are the tst and straight thru exhaust. Any where in SW virginia to get this done?

IMHO, don't just do a TC & VB upgrade. Go with billet input and output shafts as well. If you every decide to go big HP down the road, you will be glad you did everything at once, instead of paying more to go back and have them put in. Call DTT and they can lead you to an installer. Just my $. 02.

Labor for my install was $600. That was for the Torque Converter and VB.

The cost of the TC and VB is whatever you decide to go with.

I just dropped of my 06 and a truck load of DTT parts to a local transmission shop. they are NOT an authorized DTT shop but the do a lot of racing transmissions. VA beach was just too far for me to travel to have this work done. I'm located near Annapolis MD and the shop is only 20 minutes from my house. It is a small owner operator shop and the owner has promised to call DTT for INSTRUCTIONS once the transmission is on the bench. He seemed willing and eager to learn what DTT was all about. God I hope so. I' haven't spent this much money so few boxes since I started flying giant scale aerobatic models.

Stefan, you should get a call from him sometime tomorrow (Tuesday)AM your time. He was planning to pull the transmission tonight.

If this turns out to have been a good choice for the installer I will post his contact info and website for others that may be purchasing parts directly from DTT.

DTT has an awesome builder in Virginia Beach. His name is Tim Barber, he owns a 700hp+ truck himself. If you interested his # is 757-831-7451
Thinking about the same upgrades myself. Can you tell me (our PM me)of a good installer in the southern Michigan area or northern Indiana area. Thanks for any information. coobie

Diesel power,

I'm sure it will be fine. Good luck yourself. :-laf

Question, why would you in another post say to use AFT+4 when DTT says not to?

DTT uses some amsoil thats rated ATF+4, i have never heard stefan say any different!! :D

Wade, I don't know what you're talking about I have never recommended that people install +4 in our transmissions and never have. If someone wants to install amsoil that's up to them, I have never tested it and couldn't give an honest answer if it's better or not. DTT has never used amsoil unless a customer has brought it and wanted it installed. Wade knows the only oil that we run in our vehicles is Royal Purple, and we buy it for our own use, I don't even sell it.

On a transmission note I'm glad that you didn't take it to Wade, he isn't one of our guys and we don't work with him.

If anyone needs a good shop PM me and I will hook you up with the closest guys.

wouldnt that be a conflict of interests anyway? Seeing the NADP trans in his signature? That would be like taking a Mcdonalds burgar to White Castle and asking them to cook it. lol just my $. 02

as far as the amsoil goes, you would not have told me that a lot of your guys use amsoil if it were not acceptable. its rated ATF+4. thats were i got that from! your glad that he did not take his transmission to me!! i had a corp amsoil sponsorship all lined up for you guys and for some reason it got all screwed up---on your part!! for reasons im not getting into. i've installed several of your trannys, but from here on out i will not install or even sell anything

relating to you or your products, customer service (whats that stefan?) the way you just insulted me shows me you dont care about your customers!!!! thats the real reason why we dont and wont do business together. i would have never said that to a customer that was installing my products, i allways give 100% to my customers!!! NADP treats me with respect that you guys just didnt show, thats why they have all my business, and they build top quality items!! your dad may have good trannys, but the way YOU talk to customers----sucks. !!

Stefan,

I tried to PM you but your box is full. Anyway, I'm have my DTT installed by John Issac on March 1. Currently, I have all amsoil throughout my entire truck. After the 500-1000 mile break in period, what transmission fluid should I use? Is Royal Purple a specific fluid DTT recommends? If so, why? I'm not wanting to get into a battle, just wondering what my options are. Tell your dad thanks for a great transmission, and when I talked to you on the phone a couple of weeks ago about my transmission that's being built, you treated me with nothing but RESPECT :) You answered all my questions and I have nothing but great things to say about you!
