I installed the Lukes Link and noticed that it was hitting the diff cover as well. I bought a Moog and what do you know? It is hitting my diff cover as well. I thought maybe I am putting them (track bars) on wrong? Heck I used a jack to push the bar into place before I put the nut on; it lifted the truck almost off the ground.

I hope I don't have to go to the stealer for one of their $270 bars!

Cooker I was going to call and tell you that you can try my Lukes Link if you like no cost to you? Maybe it will work for your truck? You just have to come up to Saginballs, MI to pick it up!

Just for info, I've had my Lukes link on for about a year with no problems... works great. Is this problem just on certain years/models?

Guys,

Don't blow this way out of proportion... Mine just made a little scratch about the width of a pencil eraser and about 1/4" long. It's not like it punched a hole in the cover or anything.

It's really quite simple, if it rubs grind down that side of the Lukes Link. I suppose you could also smack the diff cover with a hammer and put a dent in it - but I didn't like that option!

Don't have one, but need something, so I'm finding this thread very helpful. The link for Lindstad is

http://www.blackhills.com/lindstad/

The kit requires welding, but is only $62 + shipping.

The bar with kit already installed is $125, +core charge +shipping. Don't know yet what the core charge is.

Edit: Total = 125 + 50 + 20 = $195. Ship back the old bar and you'll get the $50 back, so net cost after all shipping is about $155. Mine is on the way... :)

Lindstad reports he has recently seen one or two with minor diff rubbing, but a hammer ding or minor grinding is enough to eliminate the interference. The newer models must have less clearance than in the past - but it doesn't change the fact that I need a new and improved track bar.

I took the grinder to mine. Took about 1/4" off where the rub mark was and after 1100 miles with 12k # worth of trailer load no rub at all. This includes some very rough hunting lease roads.

I have no problem with Lukes and would certainly do it again.
