2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Track Bar Install

Getting ready to replace my track bar, and reading through the replace procedure in my service manual I see it tells me to jack and support the truck before removal.



Anybody out there successfully replaced the track bar without jacking up the truck?

I just did mine last Sunday night , My biggest comment would be that if you do it do it with an adjustable trackbar, thatway you can make things just right as the oem trackbar is solid and you get what you get.



I jacked the truck up and supported the framw with jack stands, pulled both front wheels, made the job easy and simply followed the instros from DT, I did the 2. 5 leveling kit ,shocks, trackbar and bracket, DT control arms upper and lower in 5 hours... ..... cake job and fun too... ..... results are fantastic, truck never handeled this good, recommended to all.

You can do it with the truck on the ground no problem. It makes installing the new one easier because if you need to align the stud to the hole, just turn the steering wheel.

I've replaced loads of them and have never jacked the truck, makes it easier for the reason Extreme mentioned.
