2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Track Bar problem

I has installed a new track bar on my truck. Problem is when I turn the truck left and then back to the right I get a loud POP, like its the ball on the bar popping. I have checked it and it is tight. What could be causing this? This also happened the last time I repalced the bar but it just finally went away. No big deal just very annoying.

The last time you replaced the track bar?How many times have you replaced it?I se you have a 2000. I have a 99 with 100,000 miles & never changed it & it's still tight.

This is the second time I have replaced it. The original lasted about 80,000 miles before I replaced it. , but also had to replace the steering box as the loose track bar had worn it. I did this in Feb. 2002 and in Dec. the aftermarket track bar I installed went to crap. (This is the Moog "Problem Solver)

I also had the left turn pop when I changed mine, also a Moog DS1413. I tightened the passenger a little more and have not heard the pop since. Not sure of exact mileage, but I think it has been at least 2 oil changes since I done it, change oil every 5 thousand miles. Hope this helps.

Check your passenger side tire rod end. I had an annoying pop in the front end. First did trac bar with new tires and alignment. Didn't cure it! Then did passenger side ball joints to the tune of $220!! Then a couple of months ago I was under the truck for the oil change and I noticed that the pass. side tie rod end boot had a hole in it I could stick my index finger in up to the first bend. Twisted it and it would bottom out on the link it connected too. Tie Rod end $80, install $20-30, alignment $40! I've been putting it off for a while.

I believe I can be there about 5:30. And I finally fixed the Popping. Just had to tighten the he** out of the bolt on the passenger side. Laid on the ground and used my legs to push the wrench. Only made about half a turn, but it fixed it.
