I ordered a 2" leveling kit last week for my '01, and I plan on doing the track bar after I see how it handles once it's on. I don't know what I should do as far as going with a 3rd gen one or an adjustable one? What are the price differences on each! I've heard alot of people saying I need a relocating bracket and I've also heard that I don't need one! My truck has 133k on it and I'm assuming the front is pretty well settled by now and 2" should'nt throw it out of wack to much. The truck has never had a plow on it either so I don't know how much settling has gone on in 5 year's. What are you guy's doing or seeing as far as retaining a smooth straight ride? Thank's for any help! :D

A friend added a leveling kit to his 99'. Then ordered a tracbar from a company (might've been skyjacker). Turned out he wasn't running enough lift for the aftermarket tracbar. He ended going with Luke's Link.

Trac bar

Beach, when you do the 2" level it will cause your axle to shift to the drivers side about 1/2-3/4". I bought the adjustable trac bar from the same folks that make the DSS, well worth the money spent, one hefty piece of steel. I just put d25's and bilsteins 5100's X 4 and the truck rides like a caddy and drives like a porche. You might as well replace the shocks while you are in there putting the level kit on. The adjsutabel trac bar is the only one that works with mag hytec covers.

traction bars

Dave,

Do you know of anyone who has the traction bars on a 96 2wd ?

Will mounting them on a 2wd have a different effect than a 4wd ?

Looking for traction without loss of ride.

Thanks,

i did the 2" level and put on a adjustable track abr from solid steel. works perfect. lined it right up. if your going more that 2, then ull need a skyjacker or something close.

Hey thanks for the info guy's! I did buy 4 new shock's to put on since I think I still have the original one's on my truck with 133k on it! What kind of price are we talking about for an adjustable track bar, and would it be best to let the alignment shop put it on so they can set it up right, or is it like tie rod's where they just have to turn it while it's in place? Probably a stupid question, I'd imagine that's how they work! Thank's again!

The prices are all posted on the internet, You need to read the threads and decide. I recomend you put it on yourself, if you want it done right. An adjustable trackbar is a mod. you will want the front wheels to look centered under the truck. I played with my thuren bar a couple times to get it right, then I centered me steering wheel. I did take it to a reputable alignment shop a month or so later.
