Well I think I finally need to replace me track bar! My truck is an '01 with 140k. I put a 2" leveling kit on it in late summer. I've noticed the steering in the past week seem's looser and seem's to wander a bit all of a sudden  ! I have heard a popping while turning slow. I replaced the sway bar link's when I did the leveling kit beacause of a broken one. What do you guy's recommend for a replacement that will center the axle and not wear out? Should I do the 3rd gen retro fit or an adjustable one, or what else is out there? I've seen some of the other companie's but can't remember the name's. If anyone has a website or phone number to these place's, I would appreciate it. I don't want to experience the death wobble! Thank's :)

The one and ONLY way to fix these tracbar issues with these trucks is with a Thurenfabrications setup. http://www.thurenfabrication.com/ Yeah. you have to weld on the bracket if you want the one that will accomidate a lift... but he has a non-welding version for the non-lift guys. Anyway you look at it, Dons bar is by far the best fix for these trucks. I have one, and would never use any bar, PERIOD.

Check these out.

Check out this site the best so far even upper and lower adjustable links.

http://www.solidsteel.biz/index.htm :)

The adjustable track bar uses the stronger 2003 type ends.

I have a 97 with the nonadjustable for over 2yrs no problems, had 2 "Factory" stock ones before that.

I also have a 2" leveling kit on my 95 CTD I got a track bar relocation bracket from Top Gun Customz (www.topguncustomz.com) it center my axle but the track bar is still a piece of crap and I will be ordering one from thurenfabrications

With a leveling kit, go with the thuren, there is no welding just follow his instructions, and install it. It will also center the front axel.

I have a super low mile Thuren I may sell... unless any body knows for sure if it will fit w/ a SkyJacker 5,5" kit. It doesn't look like the bolt will fit in the drop bracket end. Honestly I haven't had time to check it out yet... :(

The 3rd gen retro had its day, but from what I have read, the 3rd gen bushings dont last that long either. There are bigger, better products out there now.

I just ordered a SS 3rd gen and a DSS on monday through Source auto.

I like the fact that I just bolt it all up. (no measuring) Has special made rubber ends. for improved road feel. More firm feel then a stock 3rd Gen bar Yet will not have the the road vibrations to the steering wheel like a solid mount balljoint setup

But since you have a lift. I would probably go with the adjustable thuren trac bar. The ends are rebuildable on them :D

I installed Don Thuren's track bar at the same time I installed the 5100 kit from Sean Lorenz. It is a heavy duty bar with good install instructions on his web site. He is also a very knowledgeable guy to talk with. Thanks Sean and Don... ..... bp

Hey, I appreciate all the suggestion's. My steering is getting worse by the day. If I take my eye's off the road for a second it's going left or right. Not very fun! Anyway's, I'm going to call Don Thuren tomorrow and get some info on his product, and probably make a purchase. I need a track bar yesterday :-laf ! Thank's again to all you guy's!
