The pics are a little fuzzy, Sorry but you can see why I used the ratchet strap for alignment and at the tip of my finger in the second one, hard to see, but the rubber bushing in the old track bar is all crushed/broke and just wore out. 158,300 on it, so I guess I got my money worth out of it. The new bar is like night and day, the truck feels new again. ;)

Swaybar link bushings are shot..

I hate to break it to you if you didnt already notice but If you look in your picture your swaybar link bushings are shot as well, I just replaced some on a friends truck a few months back and they are not cheap, $40-$60 per side, which includes the rubber bushings, the link arm and the nuts and bolts from Autozone. Enjoy the SS trac ba,r I have the adjustable one and it works great, got it from Rip.

Dave :)

Yep I got mine from Rip also. Drove over and looked at his new (to me) shop. I had thought about getting the adjustable one, but since I have no plan's for lifting the truck, decided to save the money.

I will be doing the sway bar sometime after the first of the year. I need to research and look at what is available and which ones will last the longest. I know there are different ones made. Just got to decide which ones to go with. :)

I used a 10,000 lb ratched tie down to hep bring the axle over to alignment so I could put the bolt through. I did have to grind out the verticle hole bottom of the frame for the ear, as when the factory put the frame together there was some overlap that needed to be cleared, but that was it.

Glad it went well for you. You used a better ratcheted tie down then I did. I used a really small ratcheted tie down and my axle was hard enough to move that as the hole lined up, I couldn't ratchet any more. I also had to move the axle about three times a far as shown in your picture. I'd forgotten about the frame overlap but I had to drill my hole out to get the bolt through. I've got to go back and check mine again because I only put one washer on top and when I was tightening it down, I got the distinct impression the bolt was pulling the washer through the slot in the frame. Regarding the sway bar links, yours look to be in better shape then mine.
