I have asked several people this all ready but I thought that I might as well post the question. After checking the track bar as I was told how to do, I could not feel any slack in it. But when I turned the rag joint on the steering box I noticed the ball end of the track bar moved up and down on the ball. That might be the reason why the truck drives like it is hunting all the time. You have to start some where.

So which bar to buy, I would like a bar that is rebuilable or has a live time warrenty. Will the firmness of the DT track bar make the truck drive better than a stock new bar. I have heard of lukes link but I dont know if this is just on one end or both. While I have you attention what about the poly bushing that can be installed in the controll arms. I wont the truck to drive good and I am willing to spend money on it. I just wont some bang for the buck, not crome and glimmer.

I did check the ball joint and they are tight. I have a caster and camber tool from Snap -On that I bought in a pawn shop for 20$ so intend on checking the caster my self and installing the bushing to give the truck more positive caster and take it to a shop to check it after I get it finished. The goal is to save some money and do the work my self. Thanks for any advice Jim

Your post did not say the year of your truck. I have a 99 that just had the DT bar installed about one month ago. The shop also dialed in about 3-4 degrees of caster. The truck has never steered better. This was done in conjunction with a 2" leveling lift. I wish I had done this mod a long time ago.

The truck is a 95, what about the 2" leveling kit for and did that help any the way it drives. Did you install a track bar that is adjustable to center the axle housing for the lift. > Thank you again Jim

Caster is usually adjusted with the eccentrics on the lower control arms, the bushings set camber.

The Lukes link worked on mine but I did have to grind it a little for clearance, others have been happy with the Lindstad kit. http://www.blackhills.com/lindstad/

The DT track bar is usually considered the ultimate solution.

I recommend the DT trac bar. Installed mine a year ago and it really helped. My stock trac bar was worn about how you describe yours now No lift on my truck. Also look at a DSS. Won't fix a bad trac bar, but a heluva good return on a relatively cheap investment. Also look at adjusting the preload on the steering gear. I did all 3 and it drives/steers better now than when new.

Good luck with your project.

Darrin is supposed to have a new T-Bar almost ready. It uses the newer '03 design and a bracket to mount to a '94-'02 Ram. I want to get one .

I have the DT steering brace and I was pleased with the product. I would like to see what the t bar is. Thanks Jim
