As I was hopping around in the snow a few days ago, I reminded myself that I needed to seriously consider a set of traction bars. I posted a tire question (probably in the wrong forum again *#^%^@)and some members were quick to point out the same thing. So, any recomendations? I saw a product around the site a few months ago, that mount over the leaf springs and replace the over-load springs (camper pkg). Has anyone tried them in snow to see if they eliminate wheel hop? I believe they had other purposes too. I am not sure I like the looks of traction bars hanging below the LIMO. But if that is what is required then so be it. I will paint them flat black instead of fire engine Red or Canary Yellow like some of the 4wd trucks I have seen. Geez, I just realized how large busted women feel when guys don't seem to be able to look them in the eyes! I want people to look at my beautiful truck, not stare at my suspension! Well. . . back to my therapist I go. #ad

Newf - check out https://www.turbodieselregister.com/ubb//Forum3/HTML/002554.html . I had those ladder bars installed on my truck a couple of weeks ago. You can't even see them unless you are looking really closely and know what you are looking for. The only visible parts of the bars are between the wheel well and the tire. The other product you are talking about is the roadmaster active suspension kit. I've heard they help with axle wrap some but not nearly as much as ladder bars. The difference in my truck is amazing!

You can get the Fabritech ladder bars in a non-offensive color. I bought mine in bright yellow and have enjoyed how much of a conversation piece they have become.

Last winter I was not totally convinced of how much they helped. This winter I am 100% sold on their effectiveness.

My stock tires are pushing 36K miles and thus are hardly the best thing for traction anymore, however the rear end stays planted with the ladder bars and I now have no fear of just bashing away on the thick snow when I have to.

This winter I did not load up the bed with my usual #800 sandbags. (After seeing how Willyslover's cab collapsed from his sandbags smashing into it, that whole idea now scares the heck out of me)

Either Steve's bars (below) or the Fabritech bars will make you smile!!

Thanks for the pic's Steve. That helped a whole lot. Can you e-mail me with an approx. $$ figure? Newfman@mediaone.net In case I haden't updated my profile. I think that they are very acceptable looking. Not what I expected to see.
