Not Yet... ... ... ..... Only had about 3" of Snow at Camp.

Need to get in a situation where the front end bogs down in deep stuff, and see what happens.

The Sand on the Beach is the best spot to find out, but that won't be till Summer.

It might be my imagination but the launch shudder seems to be less than before.

I bought an adjustable trackber from "SOLD STEEL" awesome quality, black powder coated and best of all they are adjustable from stock to lifted rigs.

Talk to Russ at solid steel, a very standup guy.

So did those Hellwig springs work?

Have not gotten into a situation yet where I can positively say Yea or Nay.

NorthEast Pennsylvania has had one of the mildest winters on record which translates to almost no snow this year.

If I get to go to the Beach this year I will definitely report back, that will be the test. :-laf

I read another post and they seem happy with them. I ordered some up yesterday and will mount'm soon as they get in. The snows melting enough to get out in the woods up here. Hoping for an improvement over stock, that axle hopin all over on a new truck worried me.

There didn't seem to be much of an improvement in 2 feet of wet slushy snow, but it tamed the hop in the dirt and mud somewhat. Still hoppy if you keep your foot in it but calms down if you back it off a little, better than before, but not eliminated.

I have always heard that the hard bars like DHayden has have a tendency to bind unless set up correctly. As I recall, it has to do with the arc the axle moves through when it moves up and down. If the ladder bar doesn't move with the same arc, binding occurs.

I don't have any pictures of the Hellwig springs because they are almost completely hidden by the wheel well liners. As I said in previous posts, they work great in deep sand. I haven't tried them in snow. For $80, it is really hard to go wrong.

I would try the Tuff Country pair

which bolts to the top of the u-bolt plate, then uses a bushing by the spring eye. I would think they'd work alot better than the Hellwigs, since the Hellwigs are just stiffening the stock spring, so they still can twist, but not as badly. Ladder bars and shackle/frame units will cause the axle to twist in the opposite direction during suspension compression, also transmits lifting force at frame mounting location. Enough force to lift noticeably, not sure on this big of truck though. Think I'll try the TC pair, with single leaf (all leafs but main removed) springs, and airbags as a poor mans bag ride, tired of the stock ride!
