I was just was wondering if anyone knew where and if I could get some traction bars for my 04 4X4 3500 dually. I don't off road that much and don't really need the articulation, but I'm thinking that having less axel wrap will be easier on my U joint's and drive train Period... What do ya'll think  ? I've had all the sealed POS replaced with greasable one's, I hoping to get al least 75,000 to 100,000 miles greaasing them often. Thanks

I don't know what the big difference is in the 3rd gen U joints. When I sold my 2nd Gen 4x4 it still had all the original U joints except for the front axles which went at about 90K. The person that bought my truck now has about 120K on it and it still has the original OEM U joints. This was pretty normal in the 2nd gens. Something has to have changed.

Track bars are nice if you get a lot of wrap backing up with a heavy trailer but for just normal use I doubt they are worth the money and effort. With greasable U's you will probably never have to replace them again unless you really pile on the miles or beat them hard.

I would like traction bars as well, for a long bed. I called Kelderman today to find out how much their four link rear kit cost... . ouch.

It was just an idea, I'll just stick with my set up with the greasable U joints. I have 108,000 miles on her and she's only had two "sealed joints" replaced, but I went a head since I had the drive shaft out and had the money, replaced them all with greasable joints.

I dont think HMR makes traction bars for 03's and up.

PM "1bdplr" he makes a nice set for 03's and up.

I run them and pull with them on my truck.
