One of my tractors was constantly having charging problems. So I changed the Alt because it had a bearing going out, it was really screaming. The External Voltage regulator didn't look very good so for a WHOPPING $11.99 I went for it and bit the bullet in the extra expense, along with the Re-man Delco Alt for an additional $44.?? even went all out with a new belt and replaced the battery. After putting it all back together NOT RUNNING the voltage was 12.8 Volts across the + & - terminals, started it read 14.5 Volts across the + & - Terminals of the batt.

GOOD ENOUGH? :D OR SHOULD IT BE CHARGING HIGHER? o_O

Big,

That sounds like the correct voltage range. I consider my tractor 12VDC electrical system similar to a 12VDC automotive electrical system.

Cheers, Ron
