Fellas,

I could use a little advice. I know many of you will have an opinion, but I really want an opinion from those that have run both the VA and the EZ. This will be the programable VA with the on and off switch. I'm not the racing type, but I do pull heavy and in the mountains. I love the ez, but I've heard the VA is an awesome box too. Any advice will be truly appreciated.

I have the old style VA, and prefer it to the EZ by a LOT. The EZ was OK but the VA is much better for me. Low end power is up quite a bit, engine noise is down quite a bit, and fuel economy went up with the VA. Top end power and EGT are just about identical to the EZ.



I have not driven the new style VA, but I would like to try it. If it is close in programming to the old style I would trade in a heartbeat.

How many miles do you have on the old VA. I have the old VA also but after I took it off to have the truck worked on I didnt reinstall it. We had a couple of the old ones fail and so I thought I would save mine for special occasions like heavy pulling or long trips that I was running for mileage. I am just worried that its days are numbered because we had 2 peoples fail
 
I put 30K miles on the first one, and have about 30K on this one. I bought both used, the first one had about 20K on it when I got it, and the guy I sold it to had no problems a year and a half later when I caught up with him. Maybe 75K or so on that one. The one I have now I believe I am the third or fourth owner... ... .



In all the time I have spent on the TDR I only remember one VA that died... ... ... .
 
Yeah I have 30K on my Old school VA which I put on ... . Mopar Muscle prolly put 10k or so on before me. And the thing bounces around my engine compartment like a rag doll.

Well that makes me feel better in our group of maybe 8 people we had 2 fail. Alan Reagan and Stev(rambler) both failed and VA wouldnt fix them and so i thought they must have a short lifespan. I bought mine used also From Carl Mcelrath(WWCD)
 
Alan is the one I remember having trouble with his, and his trouble with VA trying to get it repaired is probably why it stuck in my mind.....
