There won't be a big block gasser

You won't see a big block gasser from chrysler in the anywhere near future. 75% of all chryslers' heavy dudty trucks are equipped with a diesel. With the new release of a fairly power full gasser(HEMI) there isn't much financial justicication for the few that would buy the big block. DCX has publicly announced that they are going to pursue the diesel option if several different areas.

Jet, I'll be happy to smoke some with you. Our Durango gets 12mpg in stop and go city traffic. It gets exactly 20mpg at 70mph on trips consistantly. That's better than my SO Cummins gets hwy and 4mpg less in town. My co-worker's 2500 HEMI gets 14mpg mixed as he uses it for work every day and 17mpg at 70mph on long trips up the flat state of Florida. I've been with him and have seen it. Why would I lie? I have nothing to gain.

On the other hand, someone with a 4. 7 or HEMI could very easily get very low mileage if they drive in "a very spirited fashion". Another co-worker bought his wife a 2500 4X4 QC SB with auto/4. 10s and a HEMI. She only gets 11mpg in town. From where they live to where she works is a traffic jam every morning and every evening at quitting time. I've seen her drive it. She loves to hear that HEMI speak up.

somebody is full of ****. I sold my HEMI when the last gas tank came out to 8. 8 MPG. To believe guys are getting 17MPG, yeah right. How can an engine vary by twice the mileage? Whatever you guys are smoking, give me some. My HO is at 16. 5 MPG and rising slowly.
