Bad break away switch perhaps, shouldn't take long to run down break away battery if this is the case .

Sounds like there is a chafed wire from the breakaway that is grounding out causing the breaks to set up. If this is the case It will drain the battery pretty fast. I would wiggle the wires around and look for this scenario. Are all the breaks the same temp after running ???? if there is a hotter temp on one that is your colpert.

Just an Idea.
