trailer hitch platforms

i have been wondering how many of you 1994--1997 owners have checked your trailer recievers for cracks. i have 1995 and pull a 30' trailer with it, and noticed that it is developing cracks on the rear most end about 1" long. i am going in the dealer and have them look at it. and i hope that i can get some help on replacing it from DC. also, made a complant to NHTSA as related to safety i also included the dredded track bar as a safety item.

sorry for being so long winded, but i feel these are important items for them to here about.

Do a search for trailer hitch recall. There was a recall a few years back because they used the wrong type of steel in them. It shouldn't cost you anything to get it replaced. Welcome to the TDR!

Hitch recall

The hitch recall was for the 1999's. Not sure if they covered earlier models or not.

thanks jwgaryand bv, for your reply, i've pretty much kept up on the recall stuff, but have not seen any thing on this item for the older trucks. have conntacted the chrysler assistece people, and they say there is no current recall on the earlyer 2nd generation rams. so, it looks like i get to replace it my self.
