Repairing a crack in the grey tank

slide out test of manual method ?

I have a 94 and a 95 dodge. When I hook up the 94 to the trailer the lights on the trailer work fine. The lights on the 95 work fine themselves but when I hook it up to the trailer and turn on either turn signal both lights flash dimly. I replaced the plug on the truck and have started checking the wires under the truck to see if I have any grounding. It is a 6 pin round plug and I have trailer brakes. I thought before I look anymore I would ask my friends here at TDR for some insight. Thanks, Ron

I had a similar problem on my camper. The right blinker was very dim and if my lights were on the right tail light would flash, as well as backup lites if in reverse and signal was on. Found out there was a bad ground on the right turn signal connection on the camper behind the socket. Usually this type of problem is right at the source. Check your ground at the lite socket. With a bad ground, power is looking for another source of ground and that's why my other lites were blinking if the turn signal was on.

I hope your fix is as easy as mine was, good luck

Ron,

I, too, would try the heavy duty flasher first. It's a cheap, easy fix if it works, and would explain why the 94 works fine and the 95 doesn't. Most other problems would be with the trailer, and it works okay with the 94.

The flashers are available at almost all auto parts stores for a reasonable price.

I'm surprised to hear that you have a 6-pin plug. Mine was a 7-pin from the factory.

Good Luck.

Thanks

Thanks guys for your help. Mr. Pittman you hit her on the head. The ground was loose on the truck. I guess the signal could'nt find a good ground and was going through the other light.
