Exhaust Brake Question

Tow Mirrors

We have a couple of box trailers we use at work, both about 30 feet or so. I redid the lighting on them with using LED lighting from Grote and Maxxima. Looks real good at night. The trailers, like most, do not have backup lights nor do they have separate turn indicators, and I would like to add them. Especially turn indicators on the sides (like buses and semi trailers). It is impossible to change lanes in traffic because peopl can't see your intentions and when they do they won't let you over anyhow. The trailers both have the 7 pin harness, is there an easy way to get this to happen? If I just use the L/R combo brake & Turn, then the indicators will also light up with the brake lights. And there is no lead to the harness for backup, so I guess a switch is the only option for that, and add another 3 or four wire plug??

Any ideas??

I just added some back-up lights to my flatbed. I have the six pole connector on my horse trailer, so I stayed with that on the flatbed... I simply ran a wire back to the rear of the trailer from the center pole (accessory) and put it on a switch in the rear. The other side of the switch goes to the two lights. You have to get out to turn it on, But backing up at night is much easier when you can see... two 55w lights brighten it up.

On the horse trailer, there is a light on top, switched at the rear, that Sundowner calls a "loading" light. Never used it for loading, but it sure helps in backing up.

The factory 7 pin connector has a backup light wire. As for the side turn signals, you should be able to buy a converter, try a trailer supply type place.

Nine Pin Plug

There is a nine pin RV plug available that will do what you want. You'll have to run wires from your front turn signals so that the brake lights will not activate.
