Advice on Power Invertor

I have a 1995 dodge 2500 and a 1988 Wilderness Yukon by Fleetwood Fifth wheel. I just got back from a trip and noticed that I am now having a problem with the brake lights. If the headlights are off, then the turn signals and brake lights are fine. If I turn on the headlights, then when the brakes are applied, the left trailer light goes out completely and the right one gets brighter (taillight plus brake). The left turn signal on the trailer works fine with the headlights on or off. Any ideas?

sounds like a ground problem on the troubled light. may not be getting enough ground to handle the load of two burning filaments.

Thanks, I will give that a look. I am contemplating changing out the entire light housing in the rear as it is the original and the plastic is getting brittle. I would then just rewire it in the process.
