I have an enclosed race car trailer that has some kind of white paneling that looks like dry erase board. I had a leak in the roof and ended up with one of the panels cracking badly and needing replacement. It appears to be some kind of press board with a smooth white coating (lamenent?) on top of it. Since the trailer is older, I was just going to replace the one section. It measures approxiamately 8' h x 4' w. Where can I purchase a sheet of this stuff and what is it called? thanks

It should be a plywood laminate that has a fiberglass coating on the surfaces... . its available up to 10 ft x 55 ft long and was designed for over the road trailers... . Class 8 stuff... . if you look close at some of the trailers in a truck stop you'll see it... .

We have a manufacture of the stuff here in Spokane because we have 4 companies manufacturing HD Trailers... .

I've bought it as surplus pieces for outside building signs... and other projects and its available in different thickness... my 5er has it as walls in 3/8 thick...

The samples I have on my desk... . is 5/8" thick...

Fiber-Tech Industries Manufactured in Spokane WA, Cadillac MI, Wash CT, and House OH

There are 2 different exteriors, and 2 different interior finishes. .

shiny or dull, smooth or a kind of krinkle... .

Hope this helps. .

The interior paneling you described is usually a very thin sheet of Luan plywood which is imported from Asian countries coated with a thin protective layer of plastic or other similar material.

You might try contacting the manufacturer of your trailer and ask what it is called, if they'll sell you a sheet, or if they will provide the name of a dealer or trailer repair shop near Houston that would sell or even sell and install a sheet.

Because the water destroyed it I suspect it was MDF, not plywood. If it is a MDF board (like particle board) base with white vinyl coating you might find it at Home Depot. I bought a sheet there 2 weeks ago to make a divider for a closet. It's 1/4" thick, 4X8 sheet.

It sounds like a melamine finish which is common because it's cheap. Melamine shelving is sold everywhere and larger (4 x 8) sheets are used to make cabinets.

Road Dog has it right. Melamine. Comes very thin like paneling and can be found at any home supply/lumber store. They also have a very flexible, all-plastic material (more textured than melamine) for shower stalls. I don't know what it is called, but I have a sheet. You can roll it up and cut it with scissors. Reminds me of a thinner version of what plastic semi mudflaps are made of. Very tuff stuff.
