2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Trailer tail lights

My truck does not have does not have any voltage on the pin for the

"running lamps" . It has the original wiring setup. The red wire with a black tracer is connected to the pin on the female 7 pin plug. The wire has continuity all the way up to plug that has many wires going into and out of the other side. This plug is at fire wall area just above the frame rail. I checked at this connector pins on female side for voltage none present. Then the wiring harness splits several ways. I have tried to chase thru the haynes

manual with out any luck. Does anybody know where this wire ends? Is it fused somewhere or connected to a relay? My tail lights on the truck work

fine and there are no wires spliced off of the tail lights going to the trailer connector. Any feedback is apprecited Thanks

Have you had a trailer hooked up to this truck before ? It is the PCM that needs to be reset by the dealer. It's a stupid system .

There is a relay and a fuse in the Power Distribution Center that relate to the trailer lighting. bg

I had a similar problem a couple weeks ago. My problem ended up being a blown fuse. I found a bare wire on my trailer that shorted, I guess. Took out the trailer light bulb, and apparently the fuse.

I don't know when Dodge started running the lights through the PCM. On my 01. 5 the trailer lights are on a separate relay and fuse circut and does not go through the PCM.

If this fuse is toast, you'll only have brake/turnsignal lights. Everything else in the trailer plug will be dead (running lights, brakes, 12v hot, etc).

To all that replied to my post, thanks alot, It was in fact the

40 amp trailer fuse in the power module. I have a FSM on order for this truck.

My next one to go after is the electric door locks. It appears that the 10 amp

fuse has power on both on both sides when measured from ground. I pulled

the door panel and ohmed out switches which seem to function correctly.

Unless some one has experienced this problem, I'll wait until I get good wiring

diagram so I can check continuity thru the harness. Or does it go thru some

unrelated, relay, fuse etc. Again thanks alot for all responses
