Trailer tires E to F range

Need to buy new tires for camper. We have a 30ft. SunnyBrook 5th wheel that weighs in at 12K loaded. The Wranglers LT are only 4 years old , but we had two tire issues last summer. My tire dealer says that it is recommend to change your tires every 4 to 5 years reguard less of wear. I was thinking of going to an F range tire if it would work out. Most of our trips are long runs, and i am always keeping a check on tire pressures before we head out. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks Robert

I know there will be some disagreement but I have had excellent luck with Hankook F rated tires on my 4-horse trailer with living quarters which is in your weight range

IF you run over 65mph you should use a good LT truck tire. Trailer tires is only good if you do not run over 65MPH You can look this up for your self. ===Good Luck I run fire stones LT Transforce on my fifth wheel 3 years old look new. Had goodyears trailers tires had 4 blow out in 4. 000 miles! Had to repair trailer 2 times. Goodyear ask what speed I ran on the interstate roads. I said the speed limit. they said sorry no tires for me.

I'm running BFG Commercial LT215/85-16 E on my 11200 gvwr 5er. Their '03 dot code dated and with 48k miles they should last another couple of years. My 18' implement trailer has the same BFG Commercial in LT235/85-16 E and are '00 dot code date.



As other poster says the Firestone Transforce H/T LT makes a good trailer tire.



The best 16" tire for trailer use is the all steel ply carcass Michelin XPS Rib LT E Michelin recommends it for commercial trailer use. The Bridgestone Duravis R-250 is another all steel ply carcass and is gaining in popularity with commercial haulers on their trailers.



Uniroyal Laredo HD-H LT 16" E came out on HH II 5th wheels.



The Goodyear Wrangler's were problmatic when used on trailers several years ago but Goodyear supossedly fixed its problems.

I totally agree that the LT 235/85/16, LR E, Michelin XPS Rib is the best tire you can put on your 5er. They're a little spendy, but well worth the money.
