Goodyear G159 tires

5er axles

I have a used tow dolly which I plan to use for towing a Kia sportage. While doing a test run at 55 mph the tires got hot.

My tires are f78 load range c which is 1710 Lbs. The Kia weighs 3310 empty. I am not sure of how much front end weight is sitting on the dolly. Does anyone know if E range tires are sold in the 78 size? My dolly can not accept wider tires.

Thank you for the web site. It was a great help. I found out that I could use 14 inch 215's

which are a bit higher not wider and will hold up to 1860 Lbs each. I was told my old tires were hardend with age and could not disapate the heat as rapid as a new tire. I was told that its important to change your trailer tires after 5 years even if the tread looks good. I went out today and bought the 215 and the test run was a success! Thanks again;) ;) ;)
