Trying to hook up lights on my dump trailer(7pin). Everything works fine until turning on running lights then brake lights or turn signals will not work can anyone help with this please thanks
on the right side i had to hook up a ground wire(POP in lights with rubber grommet) but on the left side they worked with no ground wire so i know something to do with a ground but i am gonna let trailer repair facility deal with it but any help still appreciated
I Believe there is a TSB for this. I got a new 06 and posted on the Towing Forum. The lights are now controlled by a TIPM module. It is preset from the factory for say 15 amps but most trailers draw 20 and you need to have the dealer reprogram the TIPM. I was prepared for this but after they installed my Gooseneck hitch I hooked the trailer up and everything worked fine from the very beginning but I was advised of this issue...
I don't have the TSB number handy but if youposted on the towing forum I am sure they would give it. OR, Search under my name roperteacher in the search function and look at my threads. One is titled Trailer wiring on 06 I believe.
