Changed mine today and let me first say WHAT A FUN JOB THAT WAS!NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!
I found a couple of things out while doing so:
1) I used a old piece of gutter to divert the oil to the drain pan from the drain, instead of letting it run out onto skid pad or dropping the skid plate.
2) ONe of the screw on "funnels" that you can squeeze the fluid through is a must. I found however that u must squeeze it, it will not flow on its own when turned upside down. UNless, which I just though of, is if u punch a hole in the bottom of the bottle it shoudl flow. Alot of good that does me now, sitting at my computer! LOL
3) Fluid will come out of the fill hole when its removed first, so be ready, I was not and ill have to explain the spot on the garage floor to wife. LOL
4) My NV241HD took just over 3 quarts but less than the 3. 25 it should have. I filled it till it ran out of the fill hole as fast as I was putting it in. Thats how it came from DC.
5) The torque spec for the plugs is 30-40Lbs/ft. I was able to get the drain to 32 and the fill to 30. Both felt like that was almost too much and were going to break. They also ran in deeper than they began with. Hopefully they wont leak. IF they do, next time I will used Rector seal #5 on the outer most threads.
6) Amsoil, while it is a very good product, tastes really bad!
7) Used ATF4 that came out was not too bad but lost some of the color, no burnt smell though.
8) Atleast I saved a little money doing it myself, plus its done my way ( correctly) not DC's way!
Hope some of this helps someone, I have to go brush my teeth to get the Amsoil color and taste out of my mouth.
Happy Holidays,
