Repeat afer me John, "I am my own warranty station. " :D

that goes back to how you drive it and maintain it :p ... power braking to the TC stall with that much torque is a no no ... as far as the Tcase , didn't destroy it , they were nice enough to give me a new one ... as far as warranty , 37k miles and i'll be singing the my own warranty station blues ... ;)

my stock tc and vb out performed both dunrite tc's and vb's that were installed a week apart. I wish i could click my heels together and go back to stock. my stock setup did not leak a drop of trans fluid unlike this dunrite mess. it's dextron III MERCON puddles. I would not have gone back a second time but they took my stock trans and swaped it with an old oxidize junk yard trans. that made me sick. I called tony (owner of dunrite)and ask where my stock transmission was and he said it was mistake and to come back in and we'll make it rite. what a joke!!!! 97 2500 slt x-cab power pack dunwrong trans.

You call Bill K at DTT and order the works,,,,you spend your money,,,you get the best,,,,and that`s the end of your transmission worries,,, dealling with the best crew in the buisness is always a pleasure,,,,even my local transmission shop owner calls him up for information,,and he hasn`t bought anything from him yet,,,,,proffesional courtesy at it`s best,,,,a rare thing in these days of cut throat buisness,,,,,welcome to Canada. .

I know who I am going to go with, and I know who most like here, so even though opinions are always welcome, I'm really looking for information, just want to know

How Many miles you've logged?

How Much H. P. your truck makes?

seems like most are recent installs... ... . Anyone have 100k or even 50K???

Ya!! Eh? :D :D

dunrite??

Not one part of the dunrite package worked right. stay away from el monte! 97 4x4 x-cab bank's power pack dunwrong trans.

I always welcome the posts that are negative, because you usually don't hear the negative about a company or product, because no one is going to advertise and say "WE SUCK BUY FROM US" or "Our product is a piece of dootie, but it comes in a pretty wrapper buy from us" So anyone who posted a negative experience with a product ingore this... .

but what I was really looking for, and disappointed I didn't get but a few replies, because most of the posters have some type of trans or TC modification was info on the trucks themselves how many miles since the Mods and How much HP if known, or a guess if not dyno'd I see in most signatures listing Trans mods, and most are ready to jump up and down and say how great there trans & TC upgrades are ... ..... Opinions are nice to know, but we've all heard it before, I was looking for more. Everyone who reads this site already knows how people feel about certain products. But how BORING is "DTT rules","DTT is the best", DTT comes in my favorite color" ... ... Great, good for you! HOW MANY MILES HAVE YOU GONE AND HOW MUCH HP DOES YOUR TRUCK MAKE? HAVE YOU HAD ANY TROUBLE WITH IT? I have chosen DTT in this post as an example because that is the Product I have chosen to go with, but its too bad with all the BD, and DTT people here there were ONLY 2 responses with the info I asked for... I guess everyone else just got there's installed and felt a little silly saying DTT is absolutely the best out there and I know because I make 195 HP and have had this product for 11 miles now.

Darren - Putting on the flame retardant suit.

Ok, ok. According to Piers, I should have somewhere in the neighborhood of 290 hp at the wheels. Three months/ 9k miles. No problems accept the idle needing to be somewhat high to avoid stalling when I blip the throttle in drive with the breaks on. (740 rpm in drive, 875 in neutral) The transmission heats up kind of quick when stopped in drive. Only problem so far. Hope this helps

My truck dyno'ed at 240HP at the rear wheels. I have only put on about 5k since the trans mods. Works great for me, no stalling, doesn't heat up at stop signs and does what I really installed it for, getting my heavy trailer rolling from a stop with ease. I'm still happy with mine. Getting ready to tow on my annual winter trip and will add about 7k by spring. If it still works good (or bad) I'll let the members know next May.

Not quite, I am still waiting for the day I get "too excited" at the starting line and I snap an output shaft. And with my 60 ft times I produce, I am sure Bill is "expecting" my call one day ;)

I've only got about 8000 miles since the transmission was done. But it also has close to 50 drag strip passes and I would say 20 dyno runs on it as well. Last dyno I had was 447hp, and that was before I put on my KwikSpool Turbo..... after that it honestly felt a heckuva alot stronger seat of the pants... . I couldn't believe it.

I don't baby my truck at the strip (think 4 wheel drive and 10lbs of boost launches)..... and it seems to be holding together.

Kat, sounds like you're going to need to learn that transmission even more. Have you checked your fluid/pan?

Yes its fine. First time I changed it it was burnt. . no biggie. Second time all clear... looks good. I'll change it again soon before I race it. 27,000 miles its been changed twice.

You can see by my signature below what modifications I have made. As of the installation date of my DTT products (Jan. /01), I did not yet have a DD TTPM... which I installed around Mar. /01 which in turn I just replaced with an Edge Comp (VP44 pump wire not attached yet... trying to allow for a repair window when (hopefully more like if) my '98. 5 VP44 grenades. Anyway, I dynoed at 322. 8 BHP on a Dynojet dyno (trans. not in lockup). Since the original installation date of my DTT products I've logged approx. 20k mi... . that includes no towing... but plenty of "fun". :D However, it should also be stated that Bill Kondolay tells me that I drive like a little ol' lady. Maybe so but, I do like my equipment to last and have a healthy respect for same. Also noteworthy is that I have used a synthetic ATF in my trans. since about 7k mi. when I installed my first Mag-Hytec trans. pan and performed the first trans. service. I used the Red Line synthetic ATF+3 up to and after my complete BD trans. upgrade, switching to Amsoil Universal ATF+4 during my DTT upgrade when Vinnie filled my trans. with the (supplied by me) Amsoil synthetic. I later added Lubegard (red) as suggested by Bill for the appropriate amount of friction modification. Everything has worked flawlessly and I couldn't be happier with my automatic transmission!

The issue of the elevated trans. temps. when in a drive gear at an extended stop, such as a long stop light scenario... this is due to the extreme efficiency of the stator design DTT uses in their TCs. The temp. issue is only a (possible) problem when in bumper to bumper traffic..... here's the solution... just periodically shift into Neutral. As high as I have ever seen my trans. temps. climb to was 258 degrees F... . and that was measured at the trans. cooler (HOT) outgoing line with my SPA trans. temp. gauge... BTW, that was in extreme bumper to bumper traffic! Also, as high as that seems, I still hadn't even reached my SPA overtemp. preset warning of 270 degrees F. that I had set (and I have the most severe DTT TC... the 93% model). This warning temp. setting was reached through information provided to me by Bill K... . I was told I needed to stay below 280 degrees F. as measured in the cooler outgoing line.

I hope this information can help you in some way RottnDogue.

Highest temps I have seen in the HOT line with my 91% in heavy bumber to bumber is 210. Only time I see 240-250 is when I am in 1st/2nd pulling the trailer up a hill, out of a camping spot. At least so far anyways.

Running Mag double deep, Amsoil ATF, DTT 91%, stock cooler and all that. Have about 300hp. No major problems to report in the last 6mo of driving. Now that i have had some time with this, there are a few tweaks I would like to make. Have app with Bill for Jan 11th, and he is gonna fix me right up.

bingo! that reminds me

Thanks Fred... that reminds me of something else, I'm not sure if my recorded high ATF temp. while in extreme bumper to bumper traffic was while I had my Deep Mag-Hytec trans. pan installed or after I had installed my Mag-Hytec Double Deep trans. pan. ???? Not that it makes a huge difference, just that I noticed further reduced ATF temps. with the Double Deep trans. pan.

Darren

I answered your post before this but cant remember if I included my miles. Here goes. 230 hp. -605 lbs torque. 30,000 + miles since install of all the DTT goodies. No problems yet. Love it. Truck has 120,000 miles now. Tow a 26ft tall heavy slide out travel trailer. There ya go! No need to yell.

Good luck no matter who you go with.

Dave G.

GOOD LUCK

you will need more than good luck if you go to dunrite! you will need a good mechanic! 97 4x4 x cab bank's power dunwrong trans
