Although I have an injector change looming over my head, I went ahead and changed the NV4500 and Dana 80 lube yesterday. I know there are a couple of ways to go but I went with with Amsoil Series 2000 75W-90 in both.

Well, I dont have a LS rearend but I do have the 3:55 rear end gears. The metal axle tag said 3. 54 so this must mean 3:55 to 1, I guess.

Anyway, I will probably end up getting a limited slip rear end. Any good aftermarkets out there besides the factory unit, or is it just about as good as it gets?

Also, I drained the transmission using the bottom bolt on the PTO cover on the passenger side. I also jacked up the back of the truck about 4-6 inches to level out the transmission bottom. Even so, I still fell about 9 ounces short of getting 4 quarts in. I suppose there must still be some void somewhere I couldnt empty without removing the cover and using suction.

Will the small amount of the left over Syntorq factory fluid be OK with the Series 2000. I sure dont want some strange chemistry going on in there. I figure when I change it in the spring, I'll take the covers off and try to get the full 4 quarts in there.
