I have a auxilery Micro Max trans filter on the 1990 and it is time to change the filter. After removing it, I called the company only to find they are no longer around!#@$%! To make matters worse, the filter has no part numers on it to cross referance!:{

So, I will go looking for one that fits,, but I need to know what micron rating it needs. What is the standard filtration number/ specs for transmissions?:confused:

Thanks!

Robert

10 Micron should be fine.

Thats what mine is.

Does this look like a standard hydraulic filter head?

Anything like in the picture below?

If so, there's a part # for ya.

#ad

Brad

Yes mine looks like a regular hydraulic filter head. Similar to yours, except mine is mounted on the rad core support and uses hydraulic hoses to and from the trans.

Robert

Then the Baldwin #BT839-10 should work for you.

The -10 is for 10 micron.

They also make this filter in a -25, 25 micron.

Be sure to get the 10 micron.

That # should be able to be crossed over to any other filter manufacturer.

Yes, I drive it.

But I spend way to much time cleaning it.

Brad

The filter is set-up to by-pass.

Almost all hydraulic head units also have a by-pass built into them.

Brad

Go into a good parts store with the filter. They should be able to use the center hole size and gasket location to find you something that will work with the micron rating you wanting.

OK. After going to 11 differnt hydraulic, tractor, truck, automotive, equipment suppliers, etc. all came to the same conclution. They have no clue what filter I have!:{ All said they cannot find one that would match. It looks like it is a piece specific to that company!:confused::{

So, I went back to town, I got hydraulic hose, clamps, 10 miocron filter, and a new filter housing, then fabricated some new brackets, and 6 hours later, I now have a new trans filter setup with filters that can be bought anywhere!Oo.

I hope this will make life easier in the long run!;)

Thanks guys for all the help!
