Maybe a dumb *** question..... What is the best Trans filter to use? its a Goerend 47re, is a normal 727 filter like whats on my 69 roadruner good or is there something better?

An article I was reading in one of the Diesel magazines in the last month or two said, short of installing an external trans filter system, the filters from SPX Filtran were the way to go. Their website shows many places to get them, including most of the major trans parts supliers I know of. Clicky: SPX Filtran - Global leader in filtration systems

This may be a dumb answer,,,LOL, but I have not changed the Dodge filter in 100k miles. I do change my pan fluid every 10k. My mechanic friend says if your transmission has worn enough to clogg a filter chances are that a rebuild is in order. I do know that a dirty filter, filters better than a new filter.

I do always change the filter at 50k and 75k miles on my newer vehicles to remove any break in metal deposits.

Just turned 186,000 on the original transmission. My daily driver, 96 Buick Regal 3. 8 has 161k miles and same filter for 80k miles.
