Need some input (and pics would also help) on the best place to mount a trans temp gauge... already have combo egt/boost on SRT grab handle mount and I can't loose the handle.

Nice choice on the truck and the gauge set up. Unlike boost and EGT, there is no need to have the transmission temp at eye level. You have the electronic xfer case, so this will also work for you. I mounted my Westach below the cigarette lighter in the center recess. There is a pre-cut square hole there to feed your wires. Geno's sells a black rubber underdash gauge mount that that fits perfectly in this space. It doesn't look like it, but there is enough space on the driver side of the hole to mount the holder. If I can get you a pic I'll follow up. I opted for the the dipstick sensor so I could avoid dropping the transmission pan. The dipstick sensor also makes it easy to change of you need to. I'll order a 1/8 NPT sensor to have on hand should I decide to go to another location. I also have a B&M drain plug waiting in the wings. After I installed the gauge I had a brain storm. Why didn't you install the dual temp gauge? With this you can get a reading from cooler line and pan (settles all arguments) or add coolant temp reading. As info feeway driving: I'm seeing 125 deg in cooler weather, 150 deg at 80 deg ambient. Loaded I'm seeing 175-180 deg, but this was in cooler weather. If I run the A/C the temp goes up about 10 deg or so because the a/c condenser is forward of all the other coolers (intercooler, transmission cooler, power steering cooler, radiator)

I'm kinda in the same boat. I too was looking and think I'll go with the Autometer column mount. You just replace the upper half of the column's clam shell with their's. They make one or two gauge models. Check it out. I believe they're about $30.

Hey deezeldood, thats is the same place I was thinking about - do you have the cupholder light in that hole? Just wondering if it reflects on the backside of the gauge?

How does the dipstick sensor work ?--sounds like a good idea.

I sure would like to see a pic of your set up.

Now I know what that hole is for. I have no light, maybe it's only on Laramie. I still like the location, should be easy to move the light to passenger side.

That cupholder light is some kind of a dim green light that came with a light group pac. and includes a couple of other extra lights. Thats where I am leaning towards putting one.

Any other opinions?

Looks like it worked. Kozmo (under the gage) is a gift from DW. He's supposed to guard the truck, so far so good (knock on wood).

I'll try some more pics:

-View of the probe on dipstick

-View of The diptsick penetration (I have not sealed it yet)

-View of the quick disconnect (comes with the package)

Hey-thanks for the pics. I ordered the isspro trans gauge and the accu-temp adapter from Genos yesterday and hope to get it by the weekend and get it put in.
