I made a post inquiry sometime back, have since took truck to Dealer,,,they replaced Gov Solenoid and a Sensor, not to mention releived me of $450. 00. The complaint is after backing out of parking, sometimes. . not always, truck won't shift til 2000+ rpm's and when it does, hang on... what happens now is same but rpm's lower, say 1600-1800 rpm. Talked to Dealer, they want the truck back, I says, "why what you gonna do"? "Oh, we will let our trans guy take another look", "I say, at what"? No answer! I get the feeling while trans guy is lookin, someone else be looking at my bank book... lol Ok here's some other things I've heard, Valve body has some type if steel sleeves in it that a piston(?) moves in and they get worn at 90+ thousand so new Valve body is next? Also its been mentioned accumulator pistons shrink and cause shift problems... sounds like valve body related? Any one care to jump in with help I'd welcome it. Tom L

2002 TD Ram 2500, Xtended Cab, AT, 2wd, 4:10, 97,980 miles, transer pump back on frame by tank, new VP44...

Mine was doing something similar, and after replacing gov solenoid and transducer it still had the same problem. Turned out to be the $22 speed sensor in the tail of the transmission. Try that before getting involved with the VB.

Speed Sensor

KM, thanks for the input, speed sensor ordered and local garage will install it next Tuesday... Thanks again. . TL
