Can't really tell if it's at the quick disconnect fitting (o-ring?) or the threaded fitting into the trans case. It's the line out with the temp fitting in a '95 47RH. Problem is that the "quick disconnect" is neither. Supposed to be finger pressure to pinch the 2 plastic release tabs, and then the line will pull out. Not happening, even using pliers to pinch down the tabs.

I want to take out the line to inspect/replace any sealing o-ring and to remove and teflon-tape the threaded fitting before wrenching that back into place. These QD tabs... I HATE THEM!!! This reminds me of when I had to deal with them on the fuel tank sender for the "faulty level unit" fix.

Any ideas for the tabs?

My 94 had supposedly quick disconnects that required pulling a "U" shaped wire clip out of the assembly but have had no experience with the plastic clips. I would guess that the line would have to be pushed in hard before the plastic clips could be squeezed together enough to release.

You could probably unscrew the male fitting and apply the pipe joint compound or teflon tape without the line being removed.

Some folks have removed the clip assembly altogether and used a weatherhead type brass compression fitting to solve the problem.

I am not sure how successful that turned out to be.
