I am very confused on what to do. Tonight while working on the truck I noticed I have one of the lines coming off of the round trans cooler leaking. So of coarse I came here to check and see what was the best way to correct. Well I noticed that some are replacing with high pressure rubber hose and some with stainless steel. And then others are blowing $350+ getting parts from dealer. What is the best way to go? I am leaning towards the rubber hoses. Because of cost. Any suggestions and for those who have used rubber. let me see if I got this right. 1/2" I. D. hose, Threaded end to cooler 3/8"NPT, Trans end 1/4". And also are you using these same lines up to the trans cooler uip by the radiator or are you leaving those lines alone. How did you put the sensor to the line on with the rubber hose configuration, did you have to use some sort of tee. Thanks

I have been looking around at some possible rubber hose solutions. The pressure inside of the lines is going to be no problem what about the temp. What is the maximum temp this fluid will ever reach? Thanks

To error on the safe side the max temp the fluid will ever reach is 300-350 degrees. Actually if it gets this warm for any period of time, you will have other serious issues to contend with.

Hydraulic hose will work just fine at the normal temps. You can have it cut and whatever fittings you want on it pressed on at a tractor supply or even NAPA.

I HAVE INSTALLED RUBBER LINES WITH PIPE NIPPLES IN THE TRANS. AND TEE AND INSTALLED THE TEMP PROBE INTO THE TEE AND A TEMP GAUGE SENDER INTHE COOLER FITTING WITH A TEE AND ALL WORKS VERY GOOD I DONT HAVE ANEY OF THE PLASTIC OR BRASS CONECTIONS THAT GIVE TROUBLE
