Trans. not going back into 1st gear

On my 2003 4x4. Im having a issue with the transmission not going back into first gear when I come to a stop. It doesn happen all the time but prob 1/3 of the stops that I make. Their are times when it is no promlem at all. If I feel it taking off in second gear I let off the pedal and manually put it in first and then back to drive and it works fine, till the next time it does it.



Any suggestions ?

governor pressure solenoid or pressure sensor, cheap fix, but have to drop the pan. They are in the valve body

So installing a new valve body would do the trick ?

yeh, but no need to. Unless you want to just put that money towards the cost of an aftermarket valvebody
