Trans problem (Gasser)

Hey guys, didn't really know where to post this, but one of my friends just started having some trans problems with his 2001 1500 4x4. The trans won't up shift, 3000 rpms, all noise no movement. I know it sounds like a common problem, but I'm so auto trans illiterate (geez did I spell that right??). And the check engine light came on, I thought I remember reading a thread about some sensor that needs to be cleaned if this happens on our CTDs, but what about the gas engine Rams? Thanks for any help... ... .

Sounds like it's in limp home mode, what is the code that came up, I'll be willing to bet it is a bad TPS. On second thought,(its late) maybe his coverter came apart.

It just started tonight so it hasn't been hooked up yet. I told him it could be the throttle position sensor.

I'd find out what the code is. I've seen many governor pressure sensor go bad causing all sorts of funny issues.
