trans question

Hey guy's quick question on the trans,I just got my trans rebuilt got it back took it for about a 10 mile test drive and the o/d worked perfect but noticed the speedo seemed a little off and didn't think much of it. Well get in truck and try and go to work this morning maybe get 5 miles down the road and the o/d starts bouncing in and out like probably 5 times every ten seconds so I shut the o/d off and turn around start heading home. I noticed the speedo is definitely off by 20 mph by 50 mph. I'm hoping it is just the vss going bad but it is a brand new one maybe a month old gonna call the trans shop and let them fix it. Just need some piece of mind on the rebuild.

Yep... the speed sensor will pooch your OD shifts if it is going on you... . The other item that will do this to you is the TPS.

If it isn't set quite right the OD shift will get twitchy on you too... . no big deal as far as tweaking the settings...

Wanted to give an update on the trans everything seems to be working right now,trans hunting in 3-4th turned out to be a bad trans temp sensor,what was odd it would only short out on bumps. The tech said he hasn't seen one do that he had to hook a scanner to it and drive for awhile and said the combo of the engine getting warm and the bumps. would cause it to drop out,anyway thank's for the replies and help trans feels a heck of alot better now.
