Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) trans question

begining to feel stupid. checked the atf and am trying to figure out the level? it is up past the full mark on the stick but is not consistant (some dry spots) and i double ck and no dry spots. when i add some it dosen't move is it too low? or does it drain back or what. it looks like the level is all over the stick any one else have this trouble? idleing in neutral and warm.

You have to check fluid with truck running and trans in Neutral warmed up (fluid about 145 or so) Check back of dip stick sometimes fluid from shaft messes up readings, to much and it will foam, to little and it will over heat and slip.

I have found that if you turn the stick upside down that I get a better reading. Take your reading from the correct side of dip stick.
