Trans Question.

Do the 1st gen trans have overdrive(as in 3 forward gears with overdrive)or is the third gear considered the overdrive? Thanks

The early first gen CTD autos are 3-speed, so no overdrive. The later ones are 4-speed, 4th is overdrive. I'm not sure on the year cut-off, but I'm sure someone will pipe up with that info.

I may be wrong on this 1 but I believe 91 1/2 was the fist yr for overdrive

I thought the cut-off was '91. 5, but wasn't sure enough to post it. Now I know, too.
