Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Trans question

The bosses 2001 2500 with auto of corse the trans took a dump at 60k, his is a 4x4 and he took it to a trans shop here, this trans shop says they installed a heavy duty converter, and did the tricks with the valve body& line pressures, It seems strong but the part that don't seem right is that from a stop if you hold the go peddle to the floor the trans will not shift from first untill you let off a little. I was woundering if this was a norm with the upgrade. TIA Harv

No that isn't right. Sounds like the detent cable isn't adjusted right. Take it back to the transmission shop.

My ram holds in low gear too if you floor, it just doe NOT upshift, unless you lift your foot, it has been like that since new. Is the detent cable an easy adjustment.

Ive searched the sevice manuel and can not find the detent cable, what i did find is that the unit had a throttle valve cable and it don't look so hard to check that adjustment. also today he was complaining that his cruse wasn't working correct and both cables hook at the same place so when he get's back im gona look into that, this trans dude says everything is normal and that it will fix itself in time im not buying in on that seems something is out of adjustment. Call Bill at DTT. Theres a kick down type cable I believe that has an adjustment. Call Bill and he will set you straight.
